U.S. water ski athlete Caroline Hensley of Hixson, Tenn., earned the bronze medal in women's water skiing on Friday as the 8th World Games continued in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Ten U.S. athletes are representing USA Water Ski at the event. First held in 1981, the World Games is an international multi-sport event meant for sports that are not contested in the Olympics.

The water ski program consists of three-event water skiing, barefoot water skiing and wakeboarding. The event concludes Saturday with finals in men's water skiing, men's and women's barefoot water skiing and men's and women's wakeboarding. The participating athletes – who compete solely for individual overall medals – were selected based on world overall rankings and availability.
