Lauren Morgan won the girls' overall title at the 9th Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships.
Wilson, 15, won boys' slalom titles at the 17th Junior Masters Water Ski Tournament, May 22-23, in Pine Mountain, Ga., and at the 9th Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, May 30-31, in Santa Fe, Texas.
At the Junior Masters, Wilson tied a Robin Lake Junior Masters' course record of 2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off in the elimination round of boys' slalom, then scored 4 buoys at 38 feet off in the finals to earn his first career Junior Masters' title.
At the Junior U.S. Open, Wilson won the boys' slalom title, scoring a ½-buoy at 39-1/2 feet off. He earned the top seed for the finals by scoring a personal best and Junior U.S. Open record of 3-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off in the elimination round.
Morgan, 16, won titles in girls' jumping at the 17th Junior Masters Water Ski Tournament, May 22-23, and at the 9th Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, May 30-31, in Santa Fe, Texas.
At the Junior Masters, Morgan earned the top seed in girls' jumping with a 138-foot leap in the elimination round, then jumped 137 feet in the finals to win her first career Junior Masters' title. She also placed third overall with 2,114.4 points.
At the Junior U.S. Open, Morgan won the girls' jumping (132 feet) and overall titles (2,445.5 points). She also finished second in slalom (3-1/2 buoys at 32 feet off) and third in tricks (3,650 points). Her 143-foot jump in the preliminary round was just one-tenth-of-a-meter shy of tying the Junior U.S. Open girls' jumping record.
